really if you know what your doing and have the right build and junk there is no real big weakness its all in how you set it up. i also played runescape for a long time like 1 year but it got boring they ran out of stuff to put in there but guildwars is much better. there is always something to do. money just doesnt float in i know in runescape 10mil wasnt to hard in guild wars 100k is damn good. so yeh i like guild wars i been playing like 2 months i only have factions though but i love it .

Ya I think you will really like GW. Ranger IMO is the best character to start out with. It is really fun to play and you can do so many different things with it (i.e. Damage Dealer, Inturupter, Beast Master .....). I will say that one of my friends started out as a Monk and he loves it and he is very good at it so, I think as long as you can understand what the skills are doing you will have no problems with whatever class you choose.
Just a quick thing about your computer I ran a quick price check on everything you listed coming with the system. I left everything the same that was exactly listed (although I don't agree with all of them.) and I went for the high end of everything else (no skimping). Here is the price I got. I just hate to see people over pay for stuff. Also alot of these came with 10 - 50 dollar mail-in rebates so, it would be a bit cheaper. Processor: $984.00 Operating System: $89 Chassis: $114.00 Power Supply: $169.99 Motherboard: $239.99 Memory: $224.99 * 2 = 449.98 System Drive 320 Gb: $94.99 * 2 = 189.98 Primary CD ROM/DVD ROM: $32.99 Graphics Processor: $465.99 * 2 = 931.98 Monitor: $215.99 Sound Card: $178.99 Speakers: $86.99 Keyboard: $71.99 Mouse: $38.95 Shipping = 0.00 Order Total: 3794.82 Savings = 1577.91 Good luck with GW and have fun. Dump the Alienware order, nothing but overpriced pieces of plastic crap. Everyone I know with an Alienware has had nothing but trouble with them. Get yourself down your local independant store if you don't want to build one yourself.
With the money you save, get yourself Guild Wars, Guild Wars: Factions, Guild Wars: Nightfall and possibly a decent sized family car. Last edited by Tachyon; Sep 15, 2006 at 04:59 AM // 04:59.. |

Another thing to keep in mind, you can have up to four simultaneous characters per game account (6 if you purchase and 'link' your Prophecies and Factions accounts, and even more if you wish to purchase additional character slots). So, you can experience several combinations of characters in GW. Bear in mind, though, that if you delete a character it is forever gone.
Additionally, you get to try out your secondary profession(s) for awhile before setting it, AND, later in the game, you have an opportunity to change your secondary profession in case you don't like it or want to try other combinations. Good luck! |

I've been playing pve (player vs. environment) for over a year and I'm still having fun. Though I AM a bit of a masochist. If you just want to pvp that's fine, but there's a big enough map to explore that if killing monsters is your style you won't get bored for a while. At least in the original game. Factions seriously lacks pve content.
I still have fun because every profession is played differently, and there's different builds that each certain class can be. My necro can either control ten minions or be a big damage dealer/life sucker. You pick what skills to use in town and party up with people or AI henchmen and then go do your thing. I actually started my first ranger recently and I'm just sorry I never tried one before. Monk is a good secondary on it, as it is on most professions.
